Summary of Hope For Life Foundation NY INC. Mission to Jamaica
Some of the highlights from the trip included clearing the 4 barrels that shipped by HFLF NY Inc. in advance of the trip to Jamaica The barrels were cleared by HFLF NY Inc. and delivered to HFLF JA Limited for distribution of food items and other essentials for those in need in the community and for members of the community who were affected by the recent floods in St. Mary’s.
Another highlight was a visit to Lighthouse School located in ___Port Marie____. HFLF NY Inc. contingent visited the school to meet with the staff and the children. We spoke extensively with the Principal to get a needs assessment for future support of the Lighthouse School. The children received backpacks and other school supplies that were shipped in the barrels a few days after our visit.
We also visited the Internet cafe where Sunday School is hosted for the children in the community of Galina. During our first visit we spoke to the children about what coming to Sunday school meant to them and about their future plans. Our second visit to the children at Sunday School truly touched and inspired us in a very special way because the children presented a program that showcased their many talents.
We capped off the visit with a Meet & Greet where HFLF NY Inc. & HFLF JA Limited came together to reflect on all that we were able to accomplish together on this Inaugural Endeavor. We also discussed future projects that include a building fund to expand the school. We also discussed the children in the Sunday school that need additional help.
